About
Paragon of Play is a learning resource centre offering programming for children, teens, adults, and families. From paint nights to craft workshops and from tutoring to day camps - arts, literacy and wellness programming is found here.
Paragon of Play is owned and operated by Jessica Spice, a current teacher and college course facilitator, and former early childhood educator. Jessica opened Paragon of Play as a response to two major needs she noticed in the community - recreational learning-centred programming for children, and fun arts-centred activities for adults.
Paragon of Play is a community space where we can all build connections, get creative and learn something new. Come have fun learning through play at Paragon of Play Learning Resource Centre!

Summer Day Camps
We are offering our Summer Literacy Day Camp, as well as a selection of 1-week specialty camps and single-day outdoor immersion learning group camps. Learn more on our social media pages. Registration for our summer day camp programs is open now. Please register by April 15th.
PA Day, March Break & Christmas Break Camps

Summer Literacy Day Camp
4-Week or 8-week Program
Structured literacy intervention program to support reading and writing skill development for children entering grades 1 through 6. 9am-3pm daily.
July Session: July 2nd - July 26 $950

Weekly specialty camps help children to explore and develop new skills, all while having fun and making new friends. 9am-3pm daily.

A weekly learning group that meets at the Frink Centre for hiking, open exploration and learning activities covering outdoor learning topics such as safety and environmental stewardship.

A monthly meet-up where creative kids learn slime-making tips, tricks & techniques while having fun and making new friends! Create a unique slime to take home each session. Register each month via our events calendar.

Includes:
- All art materials
- Facilitator guidance
- Craft area set up & clean up
- Guided painting option: Provide a theme and a custom painting will be designed for your party.
- Pay per person participating
- No refund for absent guests
INCLUDES: Use of the Paragon of Play space for the duration of your rental time. This includes both activity rooms, kitchen space and washroom. For children’s parties we typically use one room as a play space and one room as an activity/eating space. Adults are responsible for child supervision and safety- NOT the facilitator. We do not provide food/decorations.
Suggested length of time:
2 hour party for ages 4-8
3 hour party for ages 9+
*You must include a minimum of 30 minutes for prep and 30 minutes for pack-up. For example, a party from 11am-1pm would mean booking the centre from 10:30am-1:30pm
Interested in a SLIME party? We offer SLIME parties in partnership with Isaisaslime company. The party fee is $15/per person
Party Time Suggestions:
Sat/Sun: 11am-1pm, 2pm-4pm, 5pm-7pm
Fridays: 6pm-8pm
*Other craft/activity options may be available. Note your request in your email in order to get an appropriate quote.
We will be accepting fall party booking beginning August 5th

We will respond with a quote, your total can be paid by e-transfer or via invoice by card.
Note that responses are significantly delayed at this time due to very high volume of emails.
*Your party is NOT booked until your total fee (rental fee + party activity fee) are paid in full.
Kids Night In (Parents Night Out!)
Fun drop-off program for kids!
Need a night out without the kids? We've got you covered!
Our KIDS NIGHT IN program offers a fun and secure environment for kids to play and spend time with other children for an evening.
The KIDS NIGHT IN includes dinner, snacks, a movie showing, open play, and access to crafting materials. Children are supervised throughout the evening, from 5pm to 10pm.
We host at least one KIDS NIGHT IN event per month.
If you are hosting an adult-only event such as a wedding, business function or trip, we may be able to accommodate a private KIDS NIGHT IN booking, with flexible start and end times to meet your needs. We suggest booking at least 2 months in advance in order to secure your desired date and time.
Suggested age range is 4-12.
